For some of us we need a certain event or a specific timing sequence for us to do something or start something new. For those of you who are particularly like that, I am here to challenge you about what it is your sequence is to start NEW things. It is 2024 and there is no reason for you to not start off the year right, do so by taking your spiritual well-being as your priority. Don’t scoff at the challenge!
The thing is every year millions of people make these mundane (not downplaying the importance of it) resolutions that we most of the time end up not fulfilling. Yes, that’s disappointing when it occurs but it certainly does not stop us from trying again year after year to TRY and Fail again and again year after year. With that, most of these resolutions are to eat better, join a gym, be a better person, get out of debt, friend, mother, father etc. The point is some of us fall short less than a week in and get discouraged and not even bother. WHY? I believe we make an abrupt lifestyle change that does not fit where we are currently.
Take heed to what I am about to share with you. This “2024 Spiritual Challenge: A relationship with Jesus NOT a Religionship” I am not sure where you are in relationship or religion to your belief in God. That’s not that important to me, what’s important is that you give this challenge a chance. You may have been hurt by a church, priest, family member, spouse, or boss. You know! I ask that you put that aside for a moment. Now, this challenge is about your wellbeing not the people or person that hurt you or turn you off from religion or God.
I say again, this challenge is not about religion AT ALL! This challenge is about your spiritual relationship that is personal to you and no man or woman has the right to judge you or tell you what to do or how to do it. I’m going to leave you with a few scriptures from the bible. This challenge is very transparent, there is no catch or loophole, this challenge is on your terms, God will meet you where you are.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
The new has come and it is time for you to embrace what is already set. Do not set yourself back anymore let the Holy Spirit into your heart becoming a new soul by letting go of the past and forgiving people. If you do not forgive you are inhibiting yourself from what God truly has planned for you.
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
God only has good things for your life, the plans that we have are typically irrelevant and normally in concurrence with what God's plan is for us. The good thing is that God has selfless service and will always place the welfare of his children before his own. Just like how God gave his only son to pay the price for our sins. This is only a glimpse of what God would, is, and able to do, unconditional love with a plan that has only good fortune in sight.
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Deuteronomy 28:1-68
“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Ephesians 4:22-24
To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
