To Bear Or Not To Bear

To Bear or Not to Bear

Imagine That!
Can you imagine living life, having all your needs met, and having a good amount of your wants and desires? Though you may not have all your wants and desires you are able to see a way to eventually attain them.

Clear the air; your financial needs are met, your health is not an eminent concern, your family & friends are in good health, and you have a place to live.

What if you lost everything that is materialistic? What if you lost your popularity? What if you lost your business? (but financially you are good) What if you only had everything you needed? Would you be able to find peace, contentment, and happiness?

Your true needs:

  1. Physiological Need

Food, water, clothing, sleep, and shelter are the bare necessities for anyone’s survival

  1. Safety and Security

Basic need for safety and security are met by providing a place to live.

  1. Love and Belonging

Everyone yearns for family and connection.

  1. Esteem

Gaining confidence and the respect of others is an important step for people

  1. Self-Actualization

There’s nothing more rewarding than feeling like you’ve reached your highest potential. However, this step looks and feels different for everyone.

Yes You Can!

To imagine whether one can bare or not bare to lose all that they worked so hard for is not fair. Or is it fair to just ask a question that is so important to ones salvation?

The reality is that there are people in the world that actually do not have to imagine losing everything because they have experienced or are experiencing it right now. Some of these people are self induced because of bad decisions while others are natural disaster related; the scenario going on and on.

The difference with them and what I am asking you is that you have all your needs met AND you have plenty of things you do not need but you want.

ARE YOU WILLINGLY TO GIVE UP ALL THAT?

The Truth

The truth is Yeshua (Jesus)! For you today, you need to be willingly to give up everything and follow Yeshua. The reality of this truth is that one does not need to confess this to anyone other than God. You talk to Yeshua to advocate for you to God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you on what God is going to call you on.

(Giving up everything you love more than God)

The act of being willing to give up the things you do not need is different for everyone. God will speak to you. It is up to you to listen. Keep in mind that all your basic needs are met. Remember that there are people in the world who do not have their basic needs being met. Some of those people are followers of Yeshua despite not having their basic needs met.

Some of us who are following Yeshua and have our basic needs being met are superficially following God.

Why is it that way?

I believe that it is that way because we are focused on our wants and we do not desire to want to know God more than our fleshy desires. I am guilty of this but through Jesus and reading Gods word the Holy Spirit helped me to realize what I really wanted.

All the things I desired before are irrelevant compared to the genuine peace, contentment, and happiness I now experience intrinsically.

As long as my wife, kids, friends and family have their basic needs being met; it is well in my soul. This is something that only God can provide.

One cannot do this on their own. There will always be something missing or some void in your life. Whether direct or indirect void, meaning either you or someone in your circle has discontentment which does not derive from a lack of a basic need being met.

What Do I Do?

What you can do is go in front of a mirror and ask yourself:

  1. Is Yeshua (Jesus) the priority in my life?

  2. Are all my basic needs being met?

  3. Do I really need all the things I have that are not of my basic needs?

  4. Am I willingly to give it all up to follow Yeshua wholeheartedly?

  5. Do I trust God enough to give it all up knowing better is ahead?

God’s Promises:
John 14:1
Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me."

We have heard that "God does not give you more than you can bear". In reality God allows more than you can bear. This is something that you must understand but a lot of us fail to understand and when the going gets tough we tap out and give up on God. WHY do we do this?
The reason is because we have this preconceived notion that we should not struggle a lot when we follow Jesus.
You were not created to handle things on your own nor to depend on man alone to fix your struggles. God allows more than you can bear because that's how it is, you cannot bear it on your own. The good thing is you do not nor are you expected to do so.
Jesus comforts you, the missing piece in your life is Jesus. If you think you know Jesus, well get to know him better by being in the bible and allow the Holy Spirit to bring you and Jesus closer so you can truly believe in God and believe in Jesus.

Why God may allow more than you can bear:

So he can be gracious to you. Isaiah 30:18

So he can show his kindness and compassion. Lamentations 3:21-24

So he can restore your soul. Psalm 23:3

So he can demonstrate his strength. 2 Corinthians 12:9

So you will trust in Jesus — and the Father. John 14:1.

So you can produce character and hope. Romans 5:3-5

So he can keep us from being self-reliant 2 Corinthians 12:7

So he can discipline his children. Hebrews 12:6-7

So God’s power is revealed. 2 Corinthians 4:7

So he can show our need for salvation. Psalm 119:67

So he can comfort us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

So we can learn to comfort others. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

So he can reveal his unseen workings. Psalm 77:19

So he can demonstrate how all things work for an eventual good. Romans 8:28
